Permamently serialized aluminum tags with two mounting holes to meet all coast guard regulations. These tags meet all coast guard regulations of being permanently marked and permanently mounted. Tags that have a printed or laser marked number do not meet coast guard regulations so be sure to purchase tags like these with a permanent marking. 
 
You can purchase just ONE HIN Plate if you like but almost all boats have a pair of tags. One on the stern of the boat and another hidden, often up under the steering wheel console or various other places. 
Tags measure approximately 1" tall by 3.75" wide. All numbers are engraved at least 1/4" tall to meet Coast Guard regulations and all tags will pass a pencil trace test.
